A: I’m from Toronto and North Vancouver and was born in Prague, and then lived in Austria for a year before coming to Canada. I’ve been in BC since 1993 and we’ve had a vacation home in Whistler since 2003.
A1: Whistler has become more mature as a resort, with many more folks coming from all over, but most of all, the same snow keeps us all coming back in the winter, as well as the same dirt in the summer. Whistler reminds me of Durango, Vail and the whole Courage Classic corridor in Colorado. It has become much busier and generally, the visitor base has included a much broader population, as opposed to those that have come up to pursue a specific activity.

A2: With respect to the Sea2Sky corridor, we have certainly become much busier. The Squamish gondola has opened up so much more terrain for hiking, running and sightseeing in general and has brought positive world wide attention to the corridor. Now more than ever, people are discovering Squamish, Lions Bay, Furry Creek, Pemberton and the benefits of living and playing here.. It’s exciting to watch the development.
A: I first began taking real estate courses in 2014, but continued staying on in my technology career and recently came on board as a realtor with the fantastic local RE/MAX team. Needless to say, I’m excited to have landed here.

I’ve had a dream of selling real estate since the early days of my time in British Columbia in ’93. It’s just so beautiful here and I still can’t believe how close the trails are to the neighbourhoods, particularly on the North Shore, in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton.

In Dec. 1993, we bought our 1st home in North Vancouver when I was 28. It was a stretch and we pooled our money together and brought in a roommate for 8 months, and also reduced to one car. We economize.  I had just moved to BC and was waiting on a commission check to come in for the closing. It was a stressful time but we made it happen.

In 2003 we bought our first place in Whistler. It was a deal I made with my husband that I would come up with the down payment on a condo, and then we would be able to purchase because he felt we’d never be able to afford a place in this town. I made it happen! I remember the specific transaction in Vancouver with a customer that put me over the top in terms of numbers and that was a great day!

In 2007, we bought our 2nd house in North Van. We purchased our friend’s parents house and I facilitated the entire transaction, from contract purchase to close, with the help of a lawyer, and with the witness of our amazing real estate agent back then. She showed me what it was like to be a top real estate agent in our area. She was a real professional and had an amazing way about her. Her ability to listen, to connect, and to honour her word are qualities I have always remembered.

When I was presenting the paperwork for the sale, I knew right then and there that real estate was a calling and that I would love the profession. We have since purchased several homes and condos in Whistler and North Vancouver. Our realtor encouraged me and said it was like watching herself present offers?

We have since purchased other property both as residents, and as investors in Vancouver.
Everything! I love how inspiring it is and just love the architecture and quality of work as well as the influences from around the world.

I simply adore how everyone has an appreciation for the mountains and spends time in them. I’m like the typical ‘west coast special’ here in terms of activities, absolutely love to ski, SUP, trail run, mountain bike, road bike, gravel bike, hike and train fitness for the outdoors. Love to stage race, compete in kettlebells and everything in between.

I love that people appreciate the days and make time to feed their soul. It’s a great pleasure seeing our little athletes with their parents just riding or skiing up a storm. The level of talent in this area is incredible. Very smart people, motivated by living their best lives and participating in the outdoors whenever they can and seizing the day. It’s infectious! Everyone seems to have a passion for something outdoors and I just love seeing those smiles and that passion to seize the day!

A: What I hear most often is that people only wished they would have made the move and purchase earlier!

Be ready to make a decision and go for it. Knowledge is the key – knowing what you want and your budget.

Having everything in order is so important including mortgage preapprovals, timely access to funds, home inspector contact (along with their availability schedule), down payment knowledge requirements etc. Being prepared is critical and I can help every step of the way before we even put in an offer.

It’s a very fast paced market in the entire Sea2Sky corridor stretching from West Vancouver to Lions Bay, to Squamish to Pemberton, D’Arcy, and even a little beyond and I am here to help with answers to your questions and help you be completely prepared.

Please have a look at my website under Buying and Selling for the value-added pieces I’ve compiled about our corridor. It’s an excellent resource page for you.
A: I love working with people, creating relationships, mentoring folks and then watching the smiles on their faces when everything comes together. I love being part of a great team and partnering with companies/individuals to make great things happen.

As well, being referred unsolicited to their family, friends and coworkers for assistance is simply the greatest reward for me. I love to stay a few steps ahead and being totally organized and prepared along the way. And I always strive for win/win/win situations. They are simply the best!
A: A doctor. Always wanted to be a sports doc but never pursued that goal.
A: That’s a tough question because I just love all of our seasons and the sport transitions that go along with them. If I had to pick just one…I would say Spring. I feel like spring is just like the start of a promising early morning run, paddle or bike, with the promise of the new season to come and the many adventures and dreams to come!

Those late spring days when you can get up the mountain in a sweater and then hit the water for a SUP or the golf course or a mountain bike in the afternoon might just be the golden winner. Three sport days in the sun, with a patio or deck at the end and a nice golden beverage with friends to cap off the day.

That day when your hand trembles when you hold up your glass because you are so tired and because you are so giddy from a fabulous Sea2Sky play day!
A: I love to run and ride to decompress and love to be with my trusty trail doggo/training partner moving through the mountains.
A: Moving out west in Jan. 1993 was one of the biggest moves in my life because it had to do with goal setting. In our grade 11 geography class, I realized there was a place in Canada where the mountains and the ocean met and I wanted to live here because I just loved all of my sports so much and I wanted to be in the mountains.

I transferred with my first corporate job to Vancouver and lived in Kitsilano to start and a few months later moved to North Van.

I couldn’t believe North Van and the amazing trail access all of the neighbourhoods in North Van had. Coming from Toronto, I vowed never ever to commute again for as long as I live! There was no driving to access the trails and they were right there – wow, wow, wow!

I could work hard and then come home and hit the trail on foot, or bike, with dog, solo or with friends. Trail access became the number one criteria for me from those early days, along with good transportation access for work. Blend that with easy water access and a great lifestyle ensured. All possible in our amazing Sea2Sky corridor!
A: For the amazing quality of life. The absolute enjoyment and appreciation you get from the outdoors living within the mountains, yet easily accessible to a major metropolitan area for work and the airport for business travel.
